Weighing less than 190 grams, the new lenses will meet the needs of photographers and video creators who require lightweight, accessible, high-performance ultra-wide lens choices. The AF 9mm f/2.8 Air lens encompasses a 113.8-degree field of view (equivalent to 13.5mm), making it ideal for landscapes, architecture, and vlogging. Its optical design contains 13 elements in 11 groups and includes three ED (Extra-low dispersion) lenses, three HR (high-refractive index) lenses and two aspherical elements to deliver sharpness and control across the frame. Despite its advanced construction, the lens weighs just 175 grams in E and XF mounts, making it ideal for travel and on-the-go shooting. With a minimum focus distance of 0.13 meters and 0.15x magnification, it also supports creative close-ups. The STM autofocus motor ensures smooth, quiet, and accurate focusing, fully compatible with modern eye and face detection systems for both stills and video.
Covering a 112-degree field of view, the AF 14mm f/4.0 Air lens is ideal for photographing landscapes, cityscapes and interiors and can also be used for astrophotography. Its 12-element, 9-group optical design is balanced for sharpness and distortion control, thanks to the inclusion of four ED, two HR and two aspherical elements. At just 170 grams in FE mount version and 185 grams with the Z mount, it is highly portable. The STM autofocus motor can focus to with 13 cm with a 0.23x maximum magnification, while providing accurate, silent focusing and advanced subject tracking with eye and face detection.
Each of the new lenses is supplied with a front and end cap, a petal-shaped lens hood and a soft carrying pouch. Both lenses are available worldwide from September 19, 2025 at a retail price of $199 USD / €229 / £190 through authorised dealers and the official Viltrox store.
